How to Remove the Indoor Door Lock
In daily life, everyone may encounter locks damaged, and many owners with strong hands-on skills will choose to disassemble and replace the locks by themselves.
So how should various types of locks be removed? The following Signstek’s blog will briefly introduce you.
How to remove the handle door lock
Handle door locks are one of the common indoor locks, and many owners install handle locks in their homes.
When removing the handle door lock, first use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws on the inner side of the door;
Then remove the panel handle. If you need to change the lock core, then remove the two screws of the protective lock sleeve, and then remove the protective lock cover;
Then remove the lock cylinder fixing screw on the side lock body (that is, the side of the bolt), and then pull out the lock cylinder.
If you encounter a situation where the lock cylinder is very tight, you can tap one end of the lock cylinder with a screwdriver to pull out the lock cylinder.
The method of removing the handle door lock is: first remove the handle, then the lock core, and then the lock body. Remove the panel where you can't see the screws.
Remove all the visible screws at the back, then remove the lock cylinder, and pull back the bolt to open it.
How to remove the spherical door lock
First of all, find a small hole on the inner side lock of the door. This is the most critical step for removal. Use a flat-head screwdriver or thin iron wire to insert it into the small hole. This makes it easy to remove the door knob on the inner side.
The next step is to remove the decorative ring of the spherical door lock, because the decorative ring is fixed by live wire, so you can remove the decorative ring by just twisting it a few times.
After the decorative ring is unscrewed, you can see the two fixed screws, then use a screwdriver to loosen the screws, and then gently pull out the spherical door lock from the outside.
In the end, only the bolt on the side of the door is left, and you can easily remove it by loosening the screw. The spherical door lock is now disassembled.
When changing the door lock, we should buy a suitable lock according to the size of the door hole, so as to avoid the situation that it cannot be installed.
When choosing a lock, pay attention to whether the door lock and the opening method of the door are the same.
You can also see whether the lock is opened smoothly. If the opening sound is crisp, the lock is generally made of stainless steel.
